Northern California Board Members Benefited From Annual Seminar
Nearly 100 Board Members Attended the Massingham & Associates Management, Inc. 24th Annual Board Seminar
San Ramon, CA October 28, 2009 - Celebrating a tradition that has been in the works for 24 years the family at Massingham & Associates, Inc., an Associa Company, came together on Saturday, October 10th for an engaging Annual Board Member Seminar. Massingham & Associates along with Platinum Sponsor, AT&T, and Gold Sponsor, Angius & Terry LLP, hosted this free Annual Seminar as an opportunity for Board members to gain valuable industry information, current trends and meet industry vendor resources.
The event was a huge success with nearly 100 board members, 40 staff members, 14 speakers and 40 vendors coming together for the day long event. There were multiple sessions ranging on topics from “Fiduciary Duty When You’re Broke” to “Repairs & Roofs: Time to Act.” Notable speakers included Massingham’s own Sharon Massingham, Founder; Robert Rosenberg, President and Lisa Esposito, Chief Operating Officer. Board members were pleased with the variety of topics and the in-depth knowledge of the speakers. One new board member remarked that they were “amazed and impressed.”
Executive Vice President, Larry J. Pothast, spoke to the attendees during lunch about the responsibilities of a board member. “Larry was excellent and motivating,” raved one board member. “After 30 years in the business I am still amazed at the number of association volunteers and managers that care so passionately about these communities,” said Mr. Pothast. “Their commitment resonates throughout our industry and their passion and enthusiasm are contagious. It is a sign of a very healthy and vibrant community concept.”
The tradeshow of over 40 community management industry specialists played a big part in making the Annual Seminar a success. The board members appreciated the direct access to resources and enjoyed the lighter side of the meeting; great prizes and fun giveaways. The tradeshow room not only had valuable information and resources, it also had miniature golf and spinning prize wheel to keep board members engaged and excited.
